Hi Michael,

I see your point, i have The Dream album, and yes The Dream has some good stuff but i do think it was somewhat artificial souding. I know, it is all very subjective.. ;-) So let's see what the new one will sound like.

Concerning the longer pieces, yes i would rather have 5 long pieces on an album then 12 short scrappy "songs".

Ramon.....did you even listen to The Dream?  That was the combination.  Youth and Steve Hillage on one track?  That hasn't happened since System 7 to my knowledge.  "The Dream" was the best Orb album since Orbus in my opinion.  It was a progression too.

I can see your point that there wasn't any "longer" pieces that go on and on.......which The Orb have done before, but I wouldn't mind another double album like the first one (2 hours), so they could get more songs and longer mixes onto the discs.  I'm sure the record labels don’t want a to have to charge for a double album though.
My two cents....

I am very interested in what the sound will be for the next album. Hopefully not so damn dancy crappy as the last one (IMO ;-) ).
It is time for the UForb sound again! Spacey guitars, some sparse synths and thick basslines, thats the combination!

Apparently, this was originally just David jamming with Youth.  I guess somewhere after the jam sessions, Youth and/or LX felt it should be an Orb project.  I think when it started, David Gilmour was un-aware that it would be an Orb album in particular.  It sounds like none of them did.   Or maybe that's just what they want us to think.
