I live in Perth, Western Australia. By car, it's at least two days, possibly four, to the other side of the country which is where most bands keep to given that it's so expensive to come out west for one meagre city when there's more people and money to be made over east. To catch a flight to Melbourne or Sydney from Perth with return airfare is somewhere in the order of AU$400 on the cheap, and even then that's if you book well in advance. It's about 18 hours of continuous flying to Los Angeles via Sydney, and getting to London takes even longer because you have to go via Asia and Europe first. Not that i'm complaining about living in the most isolated city in the world or anything, because our hospitality, beaches and weather put even other Australian cities to shame--never mind anything the rest of the world can cough up. I'm just putting things in perspective for anyone who thinks they're unlucky for living eight hours from Chicago by car. :) Eh, may as well come clean and mention Kraftwerk are playing here next year on the Big Day Out tour. Go BDO. :) Kwook www.kwookyworld.com The kwinkunx is imminent. "Australia is merely an island of Antarctica and of no further significance." -- Russell Guy, "What's Rangoon To You Is Grafton To Me"
