Just wanted to pipe in...I'll try and be brief http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0521662605/102-2687628-6725741 ?v=glance It's Maragaret Atwood's latest I think [or is that Alias Grace?] anyways it's all about the writer/artist and their relationship to viewers/reader/audience, and the medium of writing in general. Very well written and LOTS of references literary and other. No real drug connect here so I'm bascially off Orb related schtuff...It's a GREAT read and helped me out a lot on this wacky coast after I moved... Was that brief enough? So sorry Artnok p.s. I believe as well that Burroughs had been writing Naked Lunch in segments while travelling in Morocco[? I must be wrong-o here] and sending back what he wrote at a trickle to Ginsburg and both of them teamed up after Burroughs returned and de/reconstructed the book on the whole...or was that the Yage Papers? I hope this helps someone... on 3/12/04 3:37 PM, billy.b at billy.b@virgin.net wrote:
I haven't actually read any of his books but I have just finished reading this fantastic book called 'Writing on Drugs' by Sadie Plant. If you have even a mild interest in any drugs then this book is a MUST READ. It gives you a whole new angle on why we do it and what it does to us. She goes on about Burroughs a lot.
Happy reading. Anyone else found a gem like this lately?
