As for boycotting the Orb, consider this: Artists as people are often difficult to deal with - Picasso, Beethoven etc. Many of them are just straight-up assholes in every way. I don't know if I'd enjoy throwing back a few beers with Alex Patterson, and you know what? I don't care. It's a common but dreadful mistake to look at artists and art as one thing. This couldn't be further from the truth. Picasso was a monster to any woman that loved him, but that doesn't mean that he can't paint. And if you don't think Beethoven could throw down some tracks, then you need your head examined. Yeah, so you lost some money. Ever go to see the Orb live? I can tell you, there's never a guarantee that they'll show, especially in New York. Would I be mad if they didn't? You bet. Would I throw all my CDs out the window because of it? Hardly! The music is still top-notch. Think about it - you could've bought a whole crate of Backstreet Boys Cds, and they would've been delivered straight to your door, but you would've lost the money anyway, if you follow my logic. I'd rather waste money on the Orb than "spend" it on all the drivel floating around out there nowadays. "But it wasn't YOU they ripped off, was it?" you'd say. Well, in fact, they ripped me off to. But when the money is all gone, and I'm old and decrepit and lying on my hospital bed staring at some horrible Monet poster, just waiting to die, do you know what I'll be hearing in my head as the Morphine drip sets me off again? I'll tell you: "What were the skies like when you were young?" There's no boycotting that feeling. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
