Hey. You mention that you are thinking about licenses and stuff that offer more freedom than regular copyright. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look at: http://creativecommons.org/ There is even a little flash movie explaining it all using the White Stripes as an example, narrated by Christopher Lydon (Ex-"Connection" host on US NPR): http://mirrors.creativecommons.org/ Here are the licenses: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/ The big idea is "Some rights reserved", and to simply enumerate all the different rights that you might want to reserve so that an author can easily choose which set of rights/restrictions he/she wants to publish any given work under. reed
