Kris Weston doesn't like LFC because he didn't write it. I'm going to love the new Orb album because of two words. Youth and Hillage. Granted Orblivion is great, but come on, U.F. Orb is spectacular. I'll take Towers of Dub over S.A.L.T. anyday. This upcoming album should be awesome. Fehlmann, Hillage, Glover and Doc. What more could an Orb fan ask for? Orbsessions V2!

Alright people,got V-2 from MD today! Once again packaged brilliantly with a nice little poster and a tiny little badge,nice touch all in. Basically the first track D.A.D.O.E.S? blew my fuckin' head off! and the rest of the album followed.Didn't go much on "Jam on yer honey" though,but that was on a first listen i'll add. I'll go with what someone said on here when V-1 was issued,it would have been a nice touch if we knew what year these tracks were flying around,and if we could marry 'em up with an album of the time? -looking foward to the rootmasters project which gets a mention on the sleeve here,but alas no mention, or no news on Madorb which got a mention on the sleeve of V-1? -David....... ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Wow guys. That's a whole bunch! I think i only have 3 or 4 or so :-D Would be nice to listen to them. Well, ofcourse i cannot blame artists for shifting their musical ability over time, i recognise that because i make music myself too. I can expect you get fed up with the thingyou have been doing for 10 years over and over. That said, i think that the music they used to make was ahaid of its time. It sounds realy blah blah, but look at it, in 89, 90, 91 they were the ones with NEW music, never heard before. Now they repeat what someone else allready published years before. Don't get me wrong, i now how bloody hard it is to come up with some new styles.. As for the live part, i believe the old live stuff was amazing. In those day's there was the inclusion of live bass, drums AND percussion. That was a huge difference. Offcourse they allways rely on there trusty multitrack player and mixing desk (and LX on the wheels) but live players do give that extra feel to it. I think they don't do that anymore for budget reasons.. I've got a feeling Krissie hasn't put out more music because a) he's too picky and ends up shelving 2/3 of what he does and b) he's such a pain in the ass to be around he gets fired or people quit before anything is finished. Life is all about compromise and I doubt anyone has ever called Kris compromising. I also have this sneaking suspicion that he can't stop looking back in anger meaning that all relationships he has (musical or other) are tainted by an expectation of rejection. A big thumbs up on FFWD as well as System 7. Then again, that was back when I was excited about Orb new releases. Now I approach the albums with a slight feeling of dread, wondering if it's going to be another boring set of beats and blips. Go dig in the fucking record bins again you bastards!
