In the middle of checking out 5 record shops in 5 hours Saturday I stopped by Noise Noise Noise in Costa Mesa. The owner and one staff member were starting a conversation about Dr. Alex Paterson and The Orb. Seems they had just heard he would play the Knitting Factory in Hollywood next Saturday evening. So I jumped in and we discussed most of the Orb's Southern California gigs and LX DJ stops over the years. I was then directed to one of the bins where I was to find The Innersphere 12" of "Out of Body" with the "O.J. Sinbad Mix". Strange in that I just obtained the CD single version (along with an extra copy I'm offering on my list of trade items) just a couple of weeks ago. But that's the way collecting goes. Sometimes several related items turn up at the same time. Thoughts are maybe there was a re-press just recently. FVLL

one quick thought for the moralists. if you purchase a promotional copy from anyone but the artist, you are doubly complicit in ripping the artist off. not only have you deprived them of their (albeit, usually small) percentage, but you increased the promotional budget which is funded directly from the artists' profits

Someone (Smiley??) once said that it was the owner of WAU! Mr. Modo. So it was somewhat legitimate. I don't think the ORB saw any money from the rerelease though. I havenÂ´t been around for a while and I thought it was more or less polite to post sumtn :) Since the discussion has started about the copyright on a few releases, I was just wondering who was responsible for the repress(?) of the Kiss EP early Â´96. The seller assured me it was repressed(?) in a circulation of 500 only. Could someone confirm this or to tackle this story? I have got it for sale now @Ebay since I am not sure about itÂ´s origin. Following Smiley's comments on the current state of the orb: Everyone has seen out of print and bootleg Orb stuff sell on e-bay for incredible prices, what I was wondering is who owns the copyright on these (that includes Live (mp3) shows, Anthology, Icons, Ultra rare tracks, etc, etc)? If they resort back to the orb, could Badorb press a largish number of each and sell them directly from their web site? Maybe a "Nostalgia isn't what it once was" Division of Badorb, to sell them online. They could advertise this division by posting one of each, (at a low price), every month on e-bay, with a link to Badorb in the posting. That should get other interested people to the site. I don't know about you, but I think that I would rather pay a higher price for a hard to get CD directly to the orb, rather than an independent dealer. Just a suggestion: trying to support the band.
