this is on topic ~~ totaly !! ive been off an on this list over a fair few years. sad to hear bill brooks is leaving. me and many others have had cds form him in the past and he has introduced us to sum cool artists also. you can talk to him about anything! and he gives great advice!! its a shame that any new member that will join this list in future will miss out on his input, processing and output. i hope he doesnt become an ex listy -because it'll be a sad loss to the orb list people. Wish i had the dosh to see him perform at his burning man gig. still as always he says he'll have a cd/dvd to send for the people that cant make it.) The wren tit has a curious song. Hold a ping-pong ball about a foot above the table. Let it go, noting the series of hollow plunking sounds the ball makes as it bounces, each successive plunk coming harder on the heels of the last as the ball bounces itself out of energy and back to silence. Trade those plunks for chipper little peeps, and you have the wren tit's signature melody. I hear it when I wake up this morning, and know I've overslept. The wren tit, a skeptical bird, won't bother to sing until the sun is well over the horizon. No false dawns for him. He wants to be sure the sun is comfortably seated in its yellow taxi, on its way through the sky, before he lets out a cheep. I got the ok from the writers to forward the following: ****************************************************************** hi Mr.broo just got back from Glastonbury! you may have heard the reports on the weather over ere? i got burnt by the sun on the first few days struck by lightning the third day (yep hahahah) and almost drowned on the same morning! but it was perhaps the best one Ive ever been too! i say perhaps cause there was no orb! but there was sum madorb!! the mad prof was there with bits of orb mixed in, it was rather good indeed! didnt take my hidden recording gear though darn nag it ! i just wanted to have a good time without worrying about my property! i always find that when i take a camera mics ect.. im thinking more about what im recording than actually having fun - y know! oh yes i got stuck by lightning! hahah- not direct but i was holding my umbrela in a storm ..as y do! the strike happened oo say 150 meters away very loud and the static shot up my arm and rattled my brolly! i thought because of the noise that i had been hit and the tingles up my arm (sure i saw sparks on my fingers?) anyway i looked around for a bit sumone said "that was close wernt it" blah de blah - so i put the umbrella down and walked off without it ! haha tents were floating off down the hills sat morn people still drunk from previous night, a few of us went about waking people up incase they drowned, drink and swimming in sleeping bags just dont work ! but the vibe of the place was so together because we were all in the same field as it were! everyone helping out - cause allot of people lost there tents and money too! but tbe skys cleared and it was very hot again - i miss that place so much every time i come home - but even more so now cause its not on next year ! i feel im part of sumthing when im there. birmingham is pants - it makes me ill ! no real community spirit everyone after ya for sumthing very selfish type a vibe! i wanna live at that festival forever! or just keep moving round different festivals! become a fortune teller or sumthing! heehee! ******** hi broo glad you o.k - yep y can post me glasto message thingy.edit away my writing is naf! these pics will give you sum idea of the hangover we had sat morning! hahahaha http://glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/gallery/index.asp?id=279 looks like these pics were taken later in the morn, it was actually worse 8am'ish! but everyone was smiling n laughing, quite amazing really! *************************************************** >>>well its in the hands of the postal services now i cant do nuttin about >>>it... ill send more - ive just been real busy... sorry... speak soon __ Kristian Weston )) (( c[_] >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I tell you what however he seems like on list he is "all right" in real life, so make sure you buy his stuff peace n'love every one................ bbroo
