This is Skidoo coming back at cha with some nice stuff indeed. About a month ago I posted that I had surprises. I also sent that email from musicforlisteners(a)hotmail.com It wasn't as big of a knock off as michael(a)musicforlisteners.com though. I wanted to see if anyone would make the connection to go to www.musicforlisteners.com It seems one person did enquire, and for his curiosity, he found something nice at this link http://www.musicforlisteners.com/news.htm#orb I was sort of hoping that someone would find it via a web search....but alas..they didn't...and now everyone can see it for themselves. It's time for me to share. :D I did get the whole show...and yes "Freebird" with Andy Cain on vocals will be played. I hope everyone gets to listen. I've been an Orb fan since '92 and I'm really looking forward to the broadcast. I was a little nervous at the beginning of the interview, but being it was Austin, someone had already offered me something I should have declined. lol. I loosen up after a little bit. I asked them and here's their very quick answer... Are all the tracks in the 3 X 7" available on the forthcoming cd ? no, only two - japanese cars and america is unavailable - are on the album cheers, colesy

Hi all. I remember recording this set from FM radio on NTL cable. When i record the radio sets i record straight into Soundforge direct from the scource (recorded as a wav. then the wav is burned to CD, therefor mp3 ing these files is ok as they have not been compressed before. I will dig out my original breeseblock set and put it in my soulseek shares as a full 320K mp3. regards Mark W. PS just checked this.infact it is a LX dJ set broadcast on 12th FEb 02 its 59.22 long. i will put it up over the weekend

Yeah, exactly. This is admittedly a very nitpicky discussion and one with which I've alredy grown bored, but my point was that no uncompressed redbook audio CD of that radio broadcast exists (at least to my knowledge), so any first-generation rip of the original internet stream at just about any bitrate is inherently going to sound better than the twice-ripped 320Kbps file the original poster was crowing about. I guess I only replied in the first place because the whole notion of twice-ripped, twice-compressed "320Kbps" files floating around really raises my audio nerd hackles. FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS RE-RIP CDs THAT WERE BURNED FROM COMPRESSED FILES IN THE FIRST PLACE. JG

hey- you can try my soulseek userid too smkraft i will leave on for a bit. what is your userid - someone can always upload to you via soulseek. surprised you are having so much difficulty using ss - may be the version you are using. most of us (i believe) use the standard version (157 i believe) not the beta version (which i do not think links up to those on the older version.) i may have that all wrong tho. --------------------------------- Talk is cheap.
