Pissed about the AVALON gig??!??!?! uh....you musta missed my long post from the day after yeah i'm still pretty devastated been seriously into the orb for about 5 years now and this was my first legit chance to see them. skipped the brooklyn show 2 nights earlier because it was a work night etc. i prayed LX would be outside telling us where the gig would be moved but alas the only person there was to talk to was a f'n news reporter. i fear i missed an ultra opportunity and that if i ever DO get to see LX it's going to be a crappy solo dj gig or something i wanted the real deal ach....i guess this is the price you pay when 84.2% of the music you adore comes from the UK :( -seedy

hi all. The Pete Lazonby remix was released on a free cd that was given away to the first 50 people through the door at the Corenet Club gig in London last year. This evening was a Dragonfly Records event which had.LX....Jimi Cauty..Youth and loads of others playing. It was a great evening and i have the remix in my Soulseek folder. Hey all! Old, ooooold Orb fan here, just popping in and saying hey... some of you ancient folks from the early geekscene (pre-'net, and early IRC days) may remember me as Midnight Sorrow (or MidSorrow), though I dropped that moniker many years ago, and these days simply go by my real name, Mitch Waas. I can be found on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/mitchwaas and on AIM s/n Euph954 I've been on this list for, jeez, I guess about ten years now, maybe longer... Mostly just read and lurk; I don't think I've actually posted here in quite a few years. I saw the Orb live on two separate occasions: April 18th, 1997 at Masquerade in Tampa FL, and on April 12th, 2001 at Orbit in Boynton Beach FL... I also caught Alex Patterson once, alongside Meat Beat Manifesto & Loop Guru at The Theatre in Ft Laud on Sept 12th 1996. Great and highly memorable shows, all! I sadly missed their recent performance at Carry On (Ultra Afterhours on March 25th), although I have long dreamt about booking them (or seeing them perform) at a smaller, more intimate venue. Maybe one day, with a little luck... For those of you in the South Florida area, I run an event production company called the Euphoria Project - we're one of the larger crews in the area that continues to actively support the underground rave and EDM (electronic dance music) scene. Yes, it's still around (and thriving) -- we nurture the PLUR vibe like it was still 1999, throwing 6-8 parties a month in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area, typically bringing in around 2-4 hundred party people each time around. We support a wide range of genres, from the more common techno, house, trance, breaks, electro, drum & bass... to more eclectic styles like goa, psytrance, IDM, downtempo, experimental, glitch, minimal techno & electro, micro-house, acid, EBM, gabber, happy hardcore, hardstyle, NRG, and a lot more. For anyone on the production/performance side of things, we are ALWAYS looking for new DJs, Live PAs or other performance artists. When you could find all kinds of orb live recordings? I live in toronto, and so far no show is scheduled, so I will not have an opportunity to see this concert, so naturally I trolled around bittorrent and soulseek and didn't find anything! I thought for sure someone would have recorded the LA show at least!!
