I can second this... I heard this a while ago (about 10 years, I guess?), great trip album, but unfortunately I don't own one... I believe this is the same album that has references to a guy named Brian (song title, perhaps?)... So Brian Eno heard the track, and thought that was particularly humourous, since they shared the same name. Or something like that. Also I should have mentioned Stars of the Lid's "The Tired Sounds of...", an excellent double-album, trip-worthy. For those who are into sample spotting, there's an obscure sample of Tarkovsky's movie "Stalker" in it. (it's on the first album, track named "Austin Texas, Mental Hospital", I believe). had a think about this, and all i can add is voyage 34 (will figure out the band l8r) and TagoMago by Can Cascade and My Kingdom by FSOL ( i prefer the Ep's to Lp's) some Portishead Plaid (the odd track is good, but the album i have is hit and miss). Steve Still searching for the 20min ambient version of Halcyon by Orbital.

I'd have to second Bola. All three albums. Not in the same psychedelic vein as Orb or FSOL and very ambient married to twitchy/beats, but overall, it's big and cinematic. very moving stuff.

I really wish I could point you at a magnificent album made in the last few years. Listen to Revolver by the Beatles and Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and then try to come up with an album that makes that kind of overall statement. Here it is, BAM! the album. In a big way the first Orb album sits in that area. The only thing I can think of approaching that kind of overall excellence is Sea Change by Beck. From the production values to the sequencing that record is fabulous. But as far as trippy non-singing albums I don't know what to tell you. I wasn't that impressed with BOC. I mean it's neat in a mix but I don't think it holds up with BAM! kind of strength. Oddly enough I think the stuff you're doing, Gel, is well worthy of your contract with Emit. Very impressive and even fun to listen to. :) My next album will be really good but it won't be no Dark Side for sure. You'll have to do that. (p.s.
