Having previously posted a few choice rants on the subject of BadOrb fulfillment and service, I feel out of fairness that I should mention that Garphoo has finally responded to my repeated inquiries about a BOB/TOG subscription order that died after 4.5 and has promised to sort me out with three packages winging their way out of the Gardonian mail stop today. I'll post again if/when the product arrives. But there is hope... JG

1) Chris D, as you are a fan and new to the list, I just wanted to recommend an orb documentary from the BBC (couple of years old). It's about the making of "Adventures Beyond". Some great sound bites from Alex: "just wanted to chill people out after a hard nights clubbing....do you want to come back and watch us do some music now....making tea and toast, having a little smoke, and there we were making a record". Those must have been the days! (Would love to have been there) http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/documentaries/lamacq_docs_orb.shtml (Been trying to make an Adventures Remix using these soundbites highly modified. 2) I recently picked up some literature about a "Healing Power of Sound" symposium. There is plenty of stuff about the 7 chakra energy openings in the body, rhythmic tuning to heal bodily organs, etc, etc, but what I was more interested in was factual scientific studies. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any scientific research on the subject? I did find a study that related group keyboard lessons for elderly people, increasing the growth hormone (hGH), but that is the only one (and this was less than scientific). cheers Bill np: Liquid Dub - a very excellent album from list member DJ Television.

At this point I am not picky about the advice I get since it will all be useful, but sure, songs, places, where to find places, etc. I have their commercially released albums that you can get from local corporate stores, and I have checked around the independent record shops as well. Not too much extra stuff there. If there were/are side projects that the orb/Alex were part of, that would be interesting to own as well. I just recently subscribed to badorb. I am interested to see how that works out. I haven't read any *bad* reviews here, but again, I am new. How do trades work here, if at all allowed? Mind you, I had to get a little bit shirty about things (my last two emails were sent to WorldPay and cc:'ed to BadOrb), but as much as I like the label/music I wasn't about to let GPB 165 go down the toilet. Anyway, I've had nothing but good luck with the individual BOB orders I've placed (for doubles/extras); it just seems to be the subscription that stopped after I got BOB4 and BOB4.5. Oh, and my subscription was supposed to include TOGs, too. I got the first three together and pretty late and in the wrong size (XXL). Per BadOrb's instructions, I sent them back at my expense and then... nothing. So I've never gotten any subscription TOGs. Yet. Anyway, I'm hoping that the three packages Garphoo mentioned will set everything straight once and for all and that my other records/shirts will arrive on schedule. I can't say I'm sure what I'll do when my subscription expires, though; given the track record, one might be better off just ordering the releases individually, even if one plans to get them all. On the other hand, maybe from now on glitches such as the one that seems to have occurred with my subscription will be a thing of the past. As with everything, your mileage may vary. JG
