Re: M_Boats: Fwd: Re: Perhaps the M-17 is not for me... M-15?
Right on - it ain't horsepower! I do not want be in the vicinity of some of the trailering combos I have heard of on some trailerboat lists! I have 100s of thousands of miles towing boats to 30' and 15000#s, these are not 'relaxing' drives even when properly equipped and certainly not for everyone. Because your car gets to the top of the hill does not mean a lot - can it STOP the load?? Gosh forbid you have to stand on your brakes going even 55 MPH and stop your vehicle with an M-17 or larger behind you - and the vehicle just keeps going forward - it is enough to make you get out and walk home after one of those events! No flames - Let's all Motor Safe - with the price of dinosaur juice getting to be what it is - PLEASE do not try to tow with even a marginal vehicle. Make sure the vehicle can steer and most importantly STOP the trailer! Little cars are WAY cool and will be the thing of the immediate future - Small lightweight tow vehicles will probably never exist. You need MASS to slow MASS. Big ass brakes and heavier vehicle - it ain't rocket surgery. Please Motor Safe. Check out Sean M.s rig - GO. LB/GF! M-17 # 316a 'that ain't bad gelcoat -it's "patina"!
