I do most of my sailing at Sage Lake Craig. My in laws have a place there. I've also sailed at East Tawas, Port Austin, Lexington and Presque Isle which is about 30 miles north of Alpena. High on my list for 2005 are the North Channel, Apostle Islands and perhaps Isle Royal which is only 14 miles if I leave from Canada. I have friends that have been there. I'd also like to sail to Pictured Rocks National Park from Munising. Its about 17 miles. I've backpacked into Chapel Rock. Fantastic place. So beautiful. Very good place to anchor unless winds come from the north. Good swimming too if you stay near the top of the water. Its still cool water but not cold cold water. I carry a water purifier on the boat and we cook with our pack packing stuff. I also carry a two man pack tent. Lets sail together next summer.
