It's a fairly good description of the islands and has decent maps of each section he is talking about, suggested anchorages and places to pick up supplies. I had that guide, paper nautical charts of the areas I sailed, and a GPS with the local data loaded on it. As Bones suggested, I spent a lot of time studying the charts ahead of time, becoming familiar with where I wanted to go, places to see, areas to watch out for.
