Gary, I've thought about using a boat hook but couldn't figure out a good way to make the attachements at the mast. What do you do?? Thanks Howard, For some raising their mast in the way you suggest orks fine. For me with my torn rotators and horrendous wait for edical services in the north of BC, I use a gin pole approach to essen any further injury. I have used a wooden gin pole in previous easons but want to add the whisker pole so that it will do double uty and furthering the utility of what is on board.
