Re: M_Boats: M17 Whisker / gin pole suggestions
In my opinion trying to do double duty is going to result in either a wrecked gin pole or a very heavy whisker pole Eldor M17 Motu iti -----Original Message----- From: Bruce Ward <northwave@telus.net> To: montgomery_boats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tue, May 4, 2010 9:09 pm Subject: Re: M_Boats: M17 Whisker / gin pole suggestions Thanks Howard, For some raising their mast in the way you suggest orks fine. For me with my torn rotators and horrendous wait for edical services in the north of BC, I use a gin pole approach to essen any further injury. I have used a wooden gin pole in previous easons but want to add the whisker pole so that it will do double uty and furthering the utility of what is on board. I'll check on he medium pole offerings on the net and look to either purchase one r buy the components and build to siut my situation. _______________________________________________ ttp://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats Remember, there is no privacy on the Internet!
Eldor: I agree. I have a telescoping boat hook that doubles as a whisker pole, and it works pretty well. --Gary Hyde 2005 M17 #637 sailboat 'Hydeaway 2' On May 5, 2010, at 10:16 AM, eisenee@aol.com wrote:

Gary, I've thought about using a boat hook but couldn't figure out a good way to make the attachements at the mast. What do you do??
