OK, that is really peculiar. That is a photo of my boat Kestrel taken around 2011 when I first bought her from Bob Becker. That is my boat in front of my house. Why this photo is being used without my permission is really strange. I wonder what the story is here? I just sold the boat on Saturday. Daniel

I was thinking it looked like your trailer, but that was the standard trailer for most of them anyhow. Somehow I thought your stripe was green but obviously I remembered that wrong! It says posted two days ago... Did you sell it to someone in Monterey area, who might have seen it as underpriced, and is trying to 'flip' it for a few grand quick profit? That would suck...maybe we should 'out' them if that's the case. Some of the details sound like cut & paste of your ad. You'd think they could at least take their own pictures! And it looks like they've edited out the registration numbers on the bow. I see what looks like a slightly off color blob where that would be. Really weird. The CF numbers are blocked out. That picture is taken straight out of my blog from 2011, but in that photo the CF number is visible. The life lines are there, which I later removed. I mentioned it in my ad. I would be surprised if the guy I sold it to were doing that, but I intend to find out! I have the guys contact information, and I will call him. The guy I sold it to was very knowledgeable about boats. He invited me to sail with him anytime, and that the boat will be kept at his house in Santa Rosa. Scammer. This is a common ploy in the Real Estate world. They scrape the picture and data, and repost.Try contacting the seller, as a naïve buyer. These things are done by automated scripts that post thousands and thousands of fake ads to Craigslist, hoping to defraud a few people before the ads get flagged. They automatically mine images and text from past ads to make them seem reasonable, but don't usually have a person doing any manual intervention. In most cases they will have some convoluted story about getting stuck over seas and needing cash urgently to get home, so they will sell it extra cheap, if you wire the money up front without seeing it first.
