Divide a group into pieces and you lose the group. There are already other Montgomery sites out there, with the Trailer Sailor group, the Facebook group, and even the one on the Sage site... and for the most part you have different people in each group. We are already getting splintered into factions. Dividing us further, by boat size, topic, etc. might serve those who are only interested in a special topic for the moment, but in my opinion does not serve us well as a body of sailors. Yes, I've been called a dinosaur before, because I prefer to stay with things that work and the simpler the better. That is also why I sail a Montgomery. I can add moderators to the Mboat section. Create new subforums (ie,
for
each boat type). The software will host photos and document attachments (videos are still best done on YouTube and linked to a post in the forum).
A moderator system would be good so if there is a problem with a post/user a group can make decisions instead of an individual (I've done such a thing with forums I've moderated for 10+ years).

I Like the idea keeping the listserv, I've enjoyed it for many years, through 2 M-17s. I don't mind the addition of a photosite, but I don't want it to detract from this community. My $.02.
