Hello Blake, My experience with the reefed main has been quite good -- once I realized that I shouldn't over tighten the outhaul. With the first reef on my sail, I still need some shape to the sail to produce power and lift. Before, when I was over tightening the outhaul I was taking out all the shape and thus had no power. My 70% "storm" jib is a much flatter cut jib than my working 130 jib so I like to keep the working jib up until the wind is near 15-20 kts. John M-15 Jester
