Jim, while you are on Sean's sight you might also pay attention to the repair that he did on the keel to center board housing joint. This is the joint the runs just inside and kind of under the keel itself. You have to reach up and around from the side of the keel or scoot under the keel to see it. I had a decent gap where what ever material the shop used when building the boat had exited, quite a few years previous by the looks of things. While not leading to any center board problems on my former '81 M-15(I also had pulled mine after reading all the stories of Woe) I did feel that openings/gaps below the water line were bad form. I mention it because this is a relatively easy repair/preventative maintenance and while I cannot be sure it seemed like it eventually could have led to water intrusion in the keel itself.
