To Nor Cal sailors: FYI I was contemplating taking the boat up to Lake Oroville (never been) on Friday and was concerned about the lake level and launch ramp accessibility. So I called the State Parks office up there and they advised me that the concrete ramp at Bidwell Canyon was still accesible. Folsom on the other hand, though nearby, is another story. Down low to the dirt. Now to see how the wind conditions are predicted for the weekend. Cheers Neil Neil Dorf
Neil, For sailing info on Lake Oroville contact the Butte Sailing Club. They would be glad to help you, Nice sailors. http://www.buttesailingclub.info/bsc.aspx . All our Lakes are low now except Whiskeytown. Sailing should be good there this weekend, I might be there myself on Sunday. Black Butte Lake has more predictable winds when the Delta breeze has blown for a couple of days. Check Orland weather. Most Nor Cal lakes are bob and bake this time of year. Your closest best bet for good easy sailing is the inner harbor at Richmond. Launch at the Marina Bay. Now The group of sailors that fit your needs is the Potter Yachters. There are a number of Montgomery sailors involved with this group, myself included. check out there website at http://potter-yachters.org/. Many members are not Potter owners, including myself. Check their calendar, contact them or me for more info. We welcome all trailer sailors of all experience and abilities. Our venues range from very easy to challenging. But we are very cautious. best, Brad Neil Dorf wrote:
