HI Doug, My, you ARE the adventurous soul! Isn't one of the advantages of a gaff rig more sail area? And, for a boat to be a true cutter, doesn't the mast need to be moved aft? Perhaps go with the gaff rig and forget the stasyl? Seems to me they did that with the Flicka go increase sail plan performance. Perhaps Frank can chime in?
