Does any one the approximate stress on the stays with a full sails in storm conditions just before the tendency to break the stay the fittings or rip it out of the fiberglass?And has any one had failures the compression type fittings?
I think you'll find that your boat can be knocked down (90 deg) without any rig failure, the impact of a breaking sea hitting the sail is what will carry your rig away. Dick, ex M23 MC Carpenter wrote:
