end cap of 17 boom
can not find anything in archives on this subject, , but there is a hole in the end of the boom cap, is this designed for a boom support to hold to the backstay, there is nothing in the hole right now and it does not look like there ever was.. If possible I would cut the rivets, put a tang and a lock nut to hold it and then clip it to the backstay for a overnight mosquito net while anchored.
That would work. We install the cap that has a swivel strap with a hole in the end. It could be used to attach to the backstay, however we also install a topping lift for holding the boom as well. I prefer a topping lift. Bob MC Carpenter wrote:
