What is the best way to check the line that raises and lowers the keel on a M 15? The only way I can think of is to jack the boat up high enough to drop the keel, but what can it rest on so it does not fall? Phil
Hi Phil, The pivot pin will keep the centerboard from falling out. If your trailer doesn't get in the way, another option to lowering the centerboard is to dig a hole under it. If you replace the cb pendent, the last several inches of the end that attaches to the centerboard is de-cored. This is so that when you tie the knot there is still enough room for the knot to pass up/down freely in the centerboard trunk.
