M17 Sail Measurements
Can anyone please give measurements for a furling sail that fits a Snapfurl CF-500 furler? I want to get a sail before installing the furler. Anyone have a used sail they want to sell? Thanks Jeff 17-496 Olympia WA
Contact Harry at EPSails.com. He will have you take the necessary measurements off the boat and make the sail. A roller reef sail needs to be specifically made. Modifying a hank-on sail results in a sail the sets poorly especially reefed (and sails that are roller reefed don't set well to begin with ... especially after 30% rolled up). :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: Baba 30 #233 DEJA VU :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com <<-- FOR SALE! :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com On Sun, Jun 19, 2022, 6:36 AM Jeff Orlando <jeff.orlando@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks Dave. I contacted EP about a new sail. He needs measurements requiring the furler to be installed. I don't want to install it until I have a sail or I'd be on mainsail only all summer long while the new one was built. So I was hoping to find a used sail then order a new one during the off-season. Not considering converting present hank-on sails. Jeff On Sun, Jun 19, 2022 at 6:46 AM Dave Scobie <scoobscobie@gmail.com> wrote:

Yes. I have the furler. Want to get a sail or some measurements before starting the installation process. Jeff On Sun, Jun 19, 2022 at 7:16 AM Dave Scobie <scoobscobie@gmail.com> wrote:

Jeff: The extrusion MUST be taken out of the package, uncoiled and laid flat. Hi All, I was curious if anyone has run into a problem where they have had difficulty raising and lowering their rudder. The last time I had the rudder off the boat, I noticed a very slight bow/bend in the rod. If you laid the rod on a flat surface and rolled it, it looked like a 1/8" or so bow. With the rudder off the boat, I tried sliding the rod through the pintles. The bend/bow created friction when attempting to slide it through the pintles which I am sure is contributing to the problem. Recently, I am really struggling with it. So much so, I often wonder if I can get the rudder up at all. Any suggestions? Do I need a new rod? Thanks for your help, Gerry M23 Dhana
