My wife may be able to help. She's a graphics designer for a sign company, and she has connections with a business that silk screens tee-shirts. She'd need a drawing to work with, preferably a jpeg or bitmap file. If nothing else, you could use the lines drawings of the boats. Now I have ANOTHER reason to wish I owned a Montgomery! Wouldn't it make more sense for someone to take the initiative, say here's a design, does it meet the general approval for the group, go get quotes for having them printed, find a place to warehouse them, find a clearing house for the fulfillment, and then ask for orders. I, also would like a couple, but I'm not sure that it's more than a pipe dream at present. Just my $.02. TH
Thanks for the input, Steve and Gary! I like Steve's line-drawing idea, similar to Rich's inpiration, the Hogin Sails lugger . . . But that's just one opinion: There should be a consensus. Would we want to pick one "representative" Monty as a drawing or photo, or try to depict the 15', 17' and 23' (Which would leave out the 8' and 12' owners, and also raise the controversy, "Which 23', the original, or the new Offshore Cutter?)? Personally, I'd also love to see Gary's decal . . . --Craig ----- Original Message ----- From: <GILASAILR@aol.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Sunday, February 22, 2004 11:00 PM Subject: Montgomery tee shirts Somewhere I have an original Montgomery decal that was used on the sides of the boats. Craig, If someone has even a scratchy a line drawing of a Monty 8, I could take it from there - for those of us with the dinks. I'd like to see line drawings for each of the sizes. Those could be emailed or retrieved for MSOG members to print on an iron on decal as they need to? But you can't get all those sizes all silk screened unless you have 'lots' of people wanting to buy enough of the different ones. Otherwise - the line drawing of the decal might be something in the middle for all of us that would 'pay' enough to silk screen print one design on a minimum number of shirts (called a small order for print shops). I used to order shirts and jackets for large divisions within corporations (such as Memorex or Unisys), so I kinda understand what I 'think' we're trying to do. The Graphic Designer that is 'current' would be way ahead of me for the latest ways and means. My sources are probably too old (when Noah was building the ark?)
