We towed our M17 with a V6 Honda Pilot from California where we bought it to Tucson with no problem but there are no big grades on that stretch of I-10. We launched with a V6 Rav4 but the trailer hitch is much too low for long distance towing. Road trips are fun - go for it if you have the time. Hi Ted,
I bought a Ruddercraft Unifoil kickup rudder for my M17 this spring, and so far have nothing but good to say about it. ?It's solidly built and easy to raise and lower. ?The hydraulic spring piston holds it down, and, after hitting an obstruction (like the bottom), it returns to vertical by itself. ?It replaced an older manual IdaSailer rudder, and there's no comparison. ?Ruddercraft is also a good company to do business with. ?Are you putting it on an M17?

One mile is pretty much no different than the rest. Just more of them in a row. We used to tow our Rhodes 22, 4700 lb tow weight, with a Chevy S-10. Towed it to Kentucky lake and back twice, 875 miles one way and never had a problem. An R-22 weighs almost twice what an M-17 weighs. I'd just hook it up and go.
