RE: M_Boats: More Harrington Harbor Hurricance pics
I feel a special sense of relief (and gratefulness) when I see these pictures. Dolphin is in a slip at Shipwright Harbor, maybe 100 yards from HH North. We are a lot more sheltered and, although some of the docks were damaged (where did that picnic table and ice machine come from?) there seems to have been only one boat sunk and only relatively minor damage to others. Dolphin had three dock lines break (not worn through, broken) but is, astonishingly, unscathed -- less damage than I could do in a single absent-minded docking. Some of the liveaboards report that it was very unpleasant during the storm. They and the marina management did what they could, and it was enough -- I salute them. -----Original Message----- From: Doug Kelch [mailto:doug_kelch@yahoo.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2003 11:08 AM To: Montgomery Subject: M_Boats: More Harrington Harbor Hurricance pics If you are not full of storm pictures here is a link to more Harrinton Harbor North - it was exposed to the SE with an 8 mile fetch once the tide surge was over the small stone barrier. http://members.cox.net/gbennett11/ Doug Kelch "Seas the Day" __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
