Looking for a specialty item, any one have any suggestion????? looking for the see through thin saran wrap type of plastic covering that you can shrink to fit with a hair dryer, NOT, not the type that fits around wires
Is this the same stuff that most hardware/home stores sell as interior storm windows? Clear plastic that's placed across a window, then "stretched" tight by shrinking with heat. ----- Original Message ----- From: "MC Carpenter" <southisland2@earthlink.net> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, November 21, 2003 4:15 PM Subject: M_Boats: looking for a specialty item

"...that most hardware/home stores sell as interior storm windows?" I've used that before. It works fine but what I bought was pretty delicate stuff; one little tear and whoops! Tod
http://www.monokote.com/ This is used in model airplane coverings and is pretty tough but will puncture readily with a sharp object. Heat shrinks drum tight and is not hard to use. Thanks Doug Kelch --- MC Carpenter <southisland2@earthlink.net> wrote:

Not that special, apparently. Simply go to any search engine (http://www.google.com for instance) and type in "shrink wrap boats retail". You'll get 1,480 hits in Google. Doug At 06:15 PM 11/21/03 -0500, you wrote:

The answers seem to assume you're looking to winterize your boat, which doesn't sound like the case . . . Boat winterization shrink-wrap is tough and heavy and all of the stuff I've seen is opaque blue, not see-through . . . It sounds to me like you're looking for the thin clear storm-window stuff that Tod mentioned . . . ----- Original Message ----- From: "MC Carpenter" <southisland2@earthlink.net> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, November 21, 2003 6:15 PM Subject: looking for a specialty item Looking for a specialty item, any one have any suggestion????? looking for the see through thin saran wrap type of plastic covering that you can shrink to fit with a hair dryer, NOT, not the type that fits around wires
