Re: M_Boats: makes perfect sense . . .
Hi Guys, My rudder is straight on my '76 M17. It does slide up on the P+G's. I fabricated my kick-up rudder by cloning the original. I then cut it so she would fold and made SS cheek plates. My kick up is a bit beefier than the stock mahagony one, I had it made from white oak. Theo did an article on it in the last Monty newsletter years ago. I'm presently on vacation in the Keys, sure wish I had an M boat here with me. (It wouldn't quite fit in the overhead on the 757.) And thanks not only to Cordell, but also to you, Bones, because I've been sending pics of your original rudder, as well as your kick-up, to those who have requested them. But yours is the balanced blade, isn't it Michael, because it has a significant "crook" in the leading edge, below the last pintle, that my rudder doesn't have. --Craig ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael L Bowden" <bownez@juno.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Cc: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, February 20, 2004 10:18 PM Subject: makes perfect sense . . .
