Andrei, Another possibility is a Folding Kayak, if you haven't considered that. It will fit easily into the cabin. Mine cost under $300. About 30 lbs/ Haven't tried it yet! but it looks like it will get the job done. I have a Tucktec Eco 10 footer. Came with paddle, foldup seat, bailer and accesories bag. Good luck - Brad
I'll be curious what you think of the TuckTec. It is not going to be easy to fold or unfold in the cockpit of an M15 or an M17. You really need a flat surface and space around all sides when folding. A friend recently got one, I've seen it & done it. Also it is for calm water only. Even a modest boat wake (or equivalent chop) will squirt water in thru the bow at the top of the V-fold (been there done that also on the maiden voyage). Hope it works for you somehow! I am still planning to build an Origami folding dinghy. Project got postponed due to other project priorities. https://woodenwidget.com/origami.htm I will add about half a foot and a modified bow shape to the Origami 6. Also will experiment with a fore-aft center seat, the "tongue depressor" kind as in the Portage Pram and Eastport Ultralight designs. If I were going to build a rigid dinghy it would be a Portage Pram hands down at this point. cheers, John On 5/20/21 10:40 AM, brad kurlancheek wrote:
