WOW! When I got my M17, I never expected to marry the family! What a bonus! So, can anyone confirm the “sailed to Hawaii” legend? When was that? What hull? Again, I have yet to hear from another owner here. Still, I seem to be gaining some notoriety for my “roadside redoo.” At least a few know what they drive by. It’s good for business! FYI, this wood-boat builder is looking forward to enjoying a fiberglass boat like never before, on our perfect playground; Kaneohe Bay, Windward Oahu. On that note, thanks for the input on C/B pennant access; I’m still wondering if it can be addressed by a shallow (warm) water dive at full drop? She should be off the trailer in another month or so; until then I’m looking at a short leash with a knot at unknown length. Also, the O/B discussion is invaluable; however, I’m favoring electric on the transom. Any thoughts? I know Oahu because my Nor'Sea 27 was at Ko'olina for 10 years, and I drove to the windward side every time I got a chance. Since Kaneohe always seems to have wind, any of a variety of electrics would be fine--even a trolling motor. A fellow over here with an M15 swears by his trolling motor for docking, getting off the trailer, etc. I should be getting my electric outboard in a day or two, so I should be able to judge in a few days whether it is the way to go or an expensive anchor.
