Is the size and shape of the rudder needed as part of the lateral drift control with the board in up /down position or does it matter. I have noticed in some modifications that some are making the rudder smaller when changing to a flip-up design, my rudder is deeper than the keel and equal to depth when board is down, is that the way it was designed to be.
