FYI, There is a paint remover on the market called "Citristrip Stripping Gel". It is low order, does smell faintly of oranges and removes bottom paint right down to the gelcoat without damaging the gelcoat. A 1/16 inch coating (one brush swipe) of the stuff and allowing it to set for about 30-45 minutes turns the bottom paint into soft butter which can be easily scraped off with a putty knife. I have no financial contact with the maker of this except for buying a couple containers of the stuff. It works! Spring is coming, Tom B. Mont.17 #258
