Hi Peter; I use a heavy duty bike cable with loops on each end. One end is wrapped around the motor below the head and threaded through one loop. The other end is looped through the motor mount and locked with a paddle lock. How many wraps depends on how long the cable is. You need to make it tight enough so it cannot be slipped off. After some experimentation with location and lengths, I found that I don't need to remove the cable when I use the motor since it is not attached to anything that swivels. When trailering I usually lay the motor on a rug in the cockpit and use the same cable and lock setup.
I think I used the same system when I had the original motor mount. When I changed to the Fulton adjustable, I replaced one on the transom mounting bolts with a heavy stainless eyebolt and lock the cable to that.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone have or use a motor lock for their 2 HP Honda. It would be so easy to remove and carry this motor! I just received the latest issue of Practical Sailor and they have a review of motor locks and recommend the Islander Outboard Motor Lock. Their web site is www.islandmarineproducts.com but they don't give dimensions. So I thought that I would ask what others on this BB have used with their 2 HP Honda's. Thanks, Peter Peanut M15
