Re: M_Boats: Kitchen for M15
Hi Jane & Tom, I don't know how elaborate you want to get with your galley project, but some years ago Charlie Matthews has an article in Messing About In Boats about his 19 inch tool box that he had made into an M15 galley. I think a copy of the article is in the M-files along with the pictures. Basically he took out the upper tool tray and replaced it with 1/4 inch thick piece of plywood that acts as a work surface. In the center he cut a round hole that holds a propane bottle in the upright position. In my version I left the board solid since I already had a different type of propane stove which I set up away from the box. The box holds: plates; cups; silverware; wine glasses; bottle / can opener; spatula; cooking spoon; small Revere tea kettle; pots and pans; kitchen knives; cutting board; and salt and pepper shakers (also sugar container) I slide mine under the bridge deck. It is out of the way but readily available when the Admirable wants to build lunch. It also is most handy on longer car trips. At a Rest Stop, we just pull out the M15 kitchen, the cooler, and then we are ready to lunch in style. Spread the table cloth; open the kitchen and take out the plates, bowls and silverware; make sandwiches and a salad; make iced coffee; and live properly! A great device thanks to Charlie's inventiveness as a former camper. Connie
