I like to keep things as simple as possible, and my boom already sports lots of hardware, but it seems to me that a boom vang might be a useful tool. Does anyone out there use one on a 17, and is it worth the hassle? Tom Jenkins M17 Scintilla
i use one on my M17. used one on my M15. use one one Sage 17. my 'style' is to use the vang more often (ie, adjusting or moving it outboard) when heading off the wind. _very_ helpful to keep the boom stable when going downwind in lumpy seas in light wind. :: Dave Scobie :: M17 #375 - SWEET PEA - www.m17-375.webs.com :: Sailing Sage 17 #001 - AIR BORN - www.sagemarine.com --- On Sat, 7/9/11, Tom Jenkins <tjenk@gte.net> wrote:

Tom: I use one down wind. I think a piece of rope would suffice, but mine is a 2:1. ~~~_/)~~~ Gary Sent from my iPhone :-) On Jul 9, 2011, at 11:02 AM, W David Scobie <wdscobie@yahoo.com> wrote:
