Hello Jim, I too have the Honda 2HP Long Shaft. I started with the fixed mount and it worked ok but I had to turn the motor 90 degrees to get it to clear the transom. In addition, the propeller would still drag. I switched to a lifting motor mount that I already had and it works beautifully. No more rotating the motor to get it to lift to a locking position and I can adjust the depth of the propeller based upon sea state and speed. John Hippe M-15 *Jester*
