Ok Jerry I took my old trusty die grinder and attacked the spot , as best as I could tell after the dust settled , thinking its gel coat . So with that information I'll leave it be for now . I'm living in the wet land of Vancouver B.C. . Hoping to have this boat cleaned and fixed up to my satisfaction for sailing by January KLaas jerry montgomery jerry at jerrymontgomery.org Tue Oct 18 19:59:11 MDT 2011 a.. Could it be that the gelcoat that was used to paint out the interior of the boat pooled in that area to a depth of 1/4"? Get some light and dig around and you should be able to tell if it;s gel coat or glass. There shouldn't be any filler material there; we simply prewet the plywood and bonded one side, and when that cured we bonded the other side. Bonds should be a bit wetter than a laminate but definately not wet enought to be swimming in resin, which becomes brittle and dead weight. I don't suppose you're anywhere near Sacramento? jerry

have you gotten my standing rigging ? I believe it was sent at least a week ago from Memphis. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me. Lou Remmers 662-842-8845 is my home numbar and 662-871-8825 is my cell. I would like a quick release for ease of rigging and what do you think of the turnbuckles? I would like to retain the origionals if possible but one is missing ( threads bad) I would really like to get the boat in the water soon as our sailing season in Mississippi is quite long. Thanks Lou Remmers --- On Thu, 10/20/11, jerry montgomery <jerry@jerrymontgomery.org> wrote: From: jerry montgomery <jerry@jerrymontgomery.org> Subject: Re: M_Boats: Crack in locker To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Date: Thursday, October 20, 2011, 3:46 PM Keep your eye on it for awhile. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: Klaas To: Montgomery boats groups Sent: Thursday, October 20, 2011 12:23 PM Subject: M_Boats: Crack in locker Ok Jerry I took my old trusty die grinder and attacked the spot , as best as I could tell after the dust settled , thinking its gel coat . Louis, I don't have your standing rigging. I live in Kansas, so if it was sent from Memphis, it should be here by now. Did you send it by UPS, or FedEx, or USPS and get a delivery confirmation?
