Jerry, Where can I find an exact match 6 inch aluminum rear cleat for my M-15. Would Bob Eeg have them as per 1981 M-15s ? ---Larry Hughston in Sacramento / hull # 189
he probably does- he got the foundry patterns along with the molds. I don't know if he uses them; he probably can 't figure out how to drill them! jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hughston, Larry" <Larry.Hughston@dgs.ca.gov> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, November 16, 2009 9:08 AM Subject: M_Boats: Broken cleat, M-15

Actually, I stole the idea from some kind of a disremembered X-brand Deathtrap boat and started using it on my boats in the mid-80's. Works great and much cleaner than the usual hasp& lock method, in my opinionated opinion. I wish I could claim it. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: <htmills@zoominternet.net> To: "'For and about Montgomery Sailboats'" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, November 16, 2009 10:16 AM Subject: Re: M_Boats: Broken cleat, M-15

Jerry, You of course deserve to be opinionated, but I have looked at available cam locks (cabinet hardware, West Marine), and I think a cam would slide nicely into a small slot on the inside of the raised rim. Pretty clean to have just a flush cylinder in each lid, but you would need 3 keys in your trunks if you sail with the lids locked. Tom Jenkins On Nov 16, 2009, at 10:53 AM, jerry wrote:

I saw too many of the old style cleats broken so we switched to Stainless steel. In fact, the entire boat is stainless. Cast stainless is light, shiny and strong. Several people have switched out the aluminum cleats for stainless. Bob

Bob, can I get the new cleats for the M-15 from you or is there a source that you give to me?
