Hi, I have a Montgomery M10 dingy. I have had it for many years and am in the process of restoring it can you give me any information on the boat. Also I need a mast as my current one is broken if you know of a place where I could get a mast that would be great. Thanks Kevin
Kevin: Contact Bob Eeg at Montgomery, see their website www.montgomeryboats.com.. He can tell you what spec mast to buy from Dwyer Mast - www.dwyermast.com. With his help, I built a new boom for my M-17. kevin: i spent an hour this afternoon over a tall beers and a stack of onion rings talking with jerry montgomery and stan sussman about boats. we happened to speak for a bit about the M10 and the old racing fleets of these boats in so.cal. i'm expecting to meet up with stan and/or jerry tonight. i'll ask them about the mast. i asked jerry how many of the M10s he built - couple thousand. the 7'11" he built over 4000! amazing little m-boats! - Dave Scobie - M17 #375 - SWEET PEA - www.m17-375.webs.com - Sage Marine - www.sagemarine.us --- On Thu, 2/17/11, Kevin Wood <kwoocon@msn.com> wrote: From: Kevin Wood <kwoocon@msn.com> Date: Thursday, February 17, 2011, 10:56 AM Hi, I have a Montgomery M10 dingy. kevin: sorry for taking so long to respond ... been busy sailing! i talked with bob egg - he does have the mold for the M10, but no hardware. i was unable to speak with jerry montgomery before he left the havasu convention. i did speak with stan sussman, and what you need to purchase is a mast of the same diameter, length and wall diameter. you can just purchase a aluminum pipe from a home hardware store. yes, nothing 'fancy' is needed. once you have a new mast replicate the fitting locations. the M10 is a gunter rig. - Dave Scobie - M17 #375 - SWEET PEA - www.m17-375.webs.com - Sage Marine - www.sagemarine.us --- On Thu, 2/17/11, W David Scobie <wdscobie@yahoo.com> wrote: kevin: i spent an hour this afternoon over a tall beers and a stack of onion rings talking with jerry montgomery and stan sussman about boats. we happened to speak for a bit about the M10 and the old racing fleets of these boats in so.cal. i'm expecting to meet up with stan and/or jerry tonight. i'll ask them about the mast. i asked jerry how many of the M10s he built - couple thousand. the 7'11" he built over 4000! amazing little m-boats! - Dave Scobie - M17 #375 - SWEET PEA - www.m17-375.webs.com - Sage Marine - www.sagemarine.us --- On Thu, 2/17/11, Kevin Wood <kwoocon@msn.com> wrote: From: Kevin Wood <kwoocon@msn.com> Date: Thursday, February 17, 2011, 10:56 AM Hi, I have a Montgomery M10 dingy. Hi Kevin, I have an M-10 sitting in the yard here for the winter. The mast is a two piece, I had an Cape Dory 10 with the same set up, I think it is called Gunter rigged? So you would need to get a couple pieces from Dwyer. Let me know (off list if you like) if you would like the measurements and I can try and take a tape measure to what I have and send some pictures that would help with the bits of hardware. Robbin, It is called a sliding Gunter rig. The part I need is the main mast I have the old one and hardware from the thwart on up but the bottom is missing. If you could measure the length of the mast that would be great. Kevin

Hi Kevin, I am waiting for some snow to clear. Then I can measure and send a picture off list. I think I should be able to do that this weekend. Robbin On 2/22/2011 7:32 AM, Kevin Wood wrote:
