Jerry Montgomery unveiling details of his new 16 footer at Havasu Pocket Cruisers event! Jerry Montgomery has been ramping up the excitement about the new 16 foot boat he is tooling up. Well, he's about to ramp up the excitement a little more. He's just announced that he will be attending the Havasu Pocket Cruisers event this February and will be bringing along some photos of the actual progress, so far, on production of the 1st boat. This will be the first glimpse anyone has had at what The Wizard has been working on behind the curtain! Before Jerry even started the new design he was on the internet doing his homework. Where did he go for input? Well, he went to his loyal following, of course. A look back through the archives of the Montgomery Sailboat Owners Group message board will see numerous interactions and discussions about performance vs cruising design between Jerry and the scores of sailors that consider sailing one of his legendary 15, 17, or 23 footers, sailing nirvana. Up to this point, there has only been speculation on what he's got up his sleeve. Trailer sailors nationwide have been impatiently waiting for their first glimpse of the new boat. Meanwhile outside the closed doors of his shop, saws can be heard, welder's arcs seen in the windows, and the smell of freshly mixed resin permeates the air. Occasionally, a delivery truck or two might be seen making a drop off. Sounds a bit like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? Or maybe Einstien'ish??? Well, we know this guy is no mad scientist! His track record speaks for itself. Whatever emerges from that shop is going to be awesome. And we are about to get our first look! Don't miss it!
