Bob I am sorry if I offended you. I was just trying to gather information and make an informed decision as to what type of boat to buy when I buy. I have heard many good things about Montgomery Boats. I was surprised to have read the negative information about your company so I thought I would check it out. As I stated in my prior email I had not written your company off based on this information. However, after your response to my last post I can guarantee you have lost a potential customer. As for the members of this list., if this is a Robert Eeg love fest list it should be stated up front. I was interested in the m17 because I read some things that said it was a very good boat. I read most of this off the msog.org website. I am sure that many of you are very happy with your boat and the way you have been treated by Mr. Eeg . However, I am surprised at the number of emails I have received from people that were less than happy or unhappy. I haven't written this boat off yet but I am actively looking for a comparable alternative. Sorry to touch on a sensitive subject. Last time it came up (and it hasn't come up for quite a while), we all agreed it was an off-list topic. But I think you have seen from the response from the list that Bob's given good service by and large. If there have been others with a bad experience they'll probably get in touch via your email rather than the list. Good luck. What is the story the information I read http://www.norsea27.com/faq.htm#just%20the%20faqs%20mamn looks pretty convincing. Who owns Montgomery boats? If you purchase one will you actually take delivery? Thanks Kyle _____ This message was scanned for viruses.
Kyle, I've never had any dealings with Bob Egg (or with Kyle Enlow either) but I have been on this net for over a year. I can appreciate your reaction to Bob Egg's reply - but being the comparative shopper you apparently are, thoroughly researching a product before buying, you should also be a little sympathetic with Bob's reaction. Bob obviously forgot that discretion is the better part of valor. Silent thanksgiving may have been more appropriate, Bob. Of course, he could also have responded with a challenge to you to purchase a Montgomery (which I believe is the better boat anyway) and post your level of satisfaction on these pages. I might have questioned his sanity if he had done so because IF you are a "sandbagger", (note that is a big "if") you could make all kinds of unreasonable demands under pain of more bad press should he not deliver. I don't know Bob Egg and have seen no evidence of this list being a Bob Egg "love fest." (until just a few minutes ago ;)) You raised a valid concern and asked for input from those who have dealt with Bob. So far all I've seen is positive feedback which is encouraging - but, of course, any really dissatisfied customers would have no reason to stay active on this site. But, before I purchase that beautiful Montgomery 23, I'll check with the BBB and others (like you have done) - Based on what I've seen so far, I'll be anticipating a clean bill of health on Nor'Sea & Egg. Kyle, I agree with Stan that you shouldn't have used your response to Bob to condemn everyone on this list. This list is a MONTGOMERY love-fest because the 15' and 17' are incredible boats. Good luck with your quest. --Craig ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stanley Winarski" <winarski@cox.net> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 30, 2002 4:25 PM Subject: Robert Eeg's Kyle, I've never had any dealings with Bob Eeg (or with Kyle Enlow either) but I have been on this net for over a year.
