Good to hear this info. Thanks. All lakes here in Central Oregon where I live and sail can get vicious windy. It even snowed hard on me last August!! I usually don't sail too far in a day. More fun to just explore a small area and check out the shallows along the shore. Sometimes fishing is in order too. We circled around Flathead Lake by car, never got on the water unfortunately. we discovered a small marina in Dayton, at the SW side of the lake. They have a small yachtclub, dockspace was occupied by sailboats, powerboats, and houseboats. There was also a marina on the north side, by Somers. Flathead is a beautiful body of water, deep and cold like Tahoe. I would imagine gusts coming down from the elevations could be strong, making sailing challenging. I'd love to sail it. Go for it.
