Re: M_Boats: Video of sailing Dauntless in 30+ knots
I had BIG fun this last weekend! My favorite 'ride' got promoted to yesterdays sail on Sean and Jo's M-23 Dauntless. See Seans story - no embellishments here- just a VERY comfortable ride in a breeze, no panic or scariness - just big rollercoaster ride into those waves, (about 30 feet apart- perfect freq!) a real YEEEEEHAAA kinda ride. You do need to hold on with one hand. 'Frenchy' says upwind steering is 'a piece of Goat cheesecake'! "Smooth with a tiny spot of tart" A very well behaved ride. Much nicer than the conditions one would experience in a 17. It would have been quite 'annoying' in the 17 due to short waterline for these short freq waves - 23' was just right for Mr Mulligans Wild Ride! If you guys are looking for something to do in February - See Seans Poker-Run event at the Havasumontgomery page Good fun Big lake, Fine Folks and nice sailing! Gary O M-17 #316a Team Geezer Racing.....Old and in the Way Arizona Sailing Squadron PS - Why do they call them "Storm Jibs" I think they are FUN JIBS! ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
