Your talking about two boats that probably couldn't be more different Gilbert. I haven't sailed a Typhoon, but a woman at our marina has one. It's a heavy boat with a full keel and tiny cabin. It's styling doesn't do much for me but it's got some overhang bow and stern that some might like. It looks like a wet ride. You'd have to have a special place in your heart for Carl Alberg to take a Typhoon over an M17 in my opinion, although I've heard very good things about the Cape Dory 25D...
