OK folks, the dates are set for the first Montgomery San Juan Rendezvous. We'll be launching on Friday, June 4th, at Annacortes, Wash., and start with a fun weekend rally based out of the Cap Sante Boat Haven, with day trips, checking out each others boats, bumming rides, probably some casual racing (anytime there's two boats, it's a race, right?), visiting and maybe music on the docks, and a group dinner at the Seafood Buffet. Cap Sante is a public marina, so it would be a great time for you "list lurkers" to come out and see the boats in person. The whole spectrum of Montys will be there; 15's, 17's, and both an older and a brand new 23! Try to find that group together anywhere else! Then on Sunday, those who can stay will head across into the islands for a week long tour, with some nights spent at anchor in sheltered bays, and some at the various marinas in the islands. (Meaning you don't have to go all week without a shower or restocking your cooler.) So far, we have a list of 7 confirmed boats, and 8 hopefuls, and I expect that number to grow substantially soon.
