I second the recommendation for teak oil instead of varnish. At least for exterior teak that you don't want to just let go silver. Much less maintenance and easier to apply & maintain and looks great - if you like the oiled teak look, which I do. After stripping and sanding, I'm using two applications of Daly's Seafin Ship'N'Shore and then 5 applications of Daly's Seafin Teak Oil. They say 6+ for exterior, but after 5 not much more seems to be soaking in (maybe because I did the Ship'N'Shore first) so I figure that's good enough for starters. As the former owner of a Marshall 18, I vote for teak oil. Cape Cod catboats were work boats, not yachts.

Hi Dave the Cetol was natural and then the clear coat. Not exactly sure as I donated the cans to the local "for free" bin at the marina.

He has the Interlux Schooner varnish which I like.

Cetol usually has an orange 'tinge'.

You wrote you inherited a can of Ceto. Which version?
