This week end I tried my parachute emergency. Stops any wind drift right now,15 knots in a four to six, its a MBEU a flight pack. I've been looking for a web sight for true used military equipment like this parachute or sealed true waterproof matches for example. I find a lot of Para - Military - Hype sales web sights places but no real thing. any suggestion? For those older sailors reading this , remember those ads when you could buy a whole jeep for the parts, for $50.00 at the depot. while that's the kind of place I'm looking for. Mike
Hi, Mike I bought a parachute off of e-bay a couple of years ago; some guy was selling them as sea anchors. It is about 5' dia, of nylon. Haven't tried it out yet and haven't made any passages yet that were long enough to warrant carrying it. Seems like it would be a real pain to work with since there are quite a few lines to get tangled.
